Got a bit of a sweet tooth? Find it hard to keep your hands off all the sugary treats in the pantry? Then this recipe is a MUST for a healthy, sugar free, yet satisfyingly tasty snack!
THE DOWN LOW
Doing a gut cleanse, then realising that I have candida overgrowth and parasites which feed of sugars and cause all sorts of adverse reactions in the body led me to also realising that I have had a bit of a sugar addiction my entire life! Most people refer to it as a "sweet tooth", and let me tell you, there's nothing sweet about it!
Sugar not only has a tremendous impact on hitting the bliss point within our taste buds, but it also causes a similar chemical reaction in our brains to that of drugs! This holds especially true for refined and white sugars. There are various alternatives such as brown sugar and stevia which is a plant based sweetener, however for this recipe all your going to need are a handful of dates and your in business!!!
THE CONCOCTION
The best thing about bliss balls, is that you can make them using so many different plant based, healthy and sugar free ingredients. This recipe is not only quick and easy to make, it also has a powerhouse of healthy and nutritious ingredients that serve for a happy healthy gut! If you are going through a gut healing journey, sugar free diet, or simply want to find healthy alternatives to your usual snacks, then this is definitely the recipe for you!
Full of delicious nuts and seeds, and a chocolatey creamy texture, these are perfect for a simple snack, or even as party treats for the guests. Everyone will be sure to love them! And the best part is they won't even know that it's sugar, dairy, and gluten free! What's even better is that they probably won't believe you when you tell them that you can create something this delicious, without causing adversely harmful effects to the body. Convinced yet? Then lets get into the recipe!

INGREDIENTS LIST:
• 7 - 9 Dates • Half a cup of Almonds • Quarter of a cup Cashews
• 1 Tablespoon of your favourite nut butter (almond/peanut) • 1 Table Spoon of Coconut Oil • 1 Table Spoon 100% Cocoa Powder
• A Tablespoon of Flax & Chia seed mix
• Shredded Coconut (to roll balls in or add a little into the mix!)
THE RECIPE
Step 1: Add the ingredients to blender - Simply add half a cup of almonds, a quarter of a cup of cashews, 1 tablespoon of almond butter, 1 tablespoon of melted coconut oil, 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon of flax and chia mix, and a quarter of a teaspoon of shredded coconut and BLEND BLEND BLEND!!!!
Step 2: Get Rolling - Using a tablespoon or a measuring spoon of choice, scoop up the mixture and begin to roll it into a ball in the palm of your hands. Set aside a separate plate with shredded coconut pieces on it and roll the balls around in the coconut until fully covered.
Step 3: Solidify those balls - Place the rolled balls into a container and straight into the fridge for at least 1 hour to set prior to serving. This ensure's a really thick, smooth and creamy chocolatey effect!
Step 4: Snack your heart out - Once the balls are set in place, you can either present them for the guests in whichever way you like, or just go ahead and take a bite! Once you start, it's hard to stop but they definitely satisfy the sugar cravings and hit the spot!
