I've always been someone who's had my on and off love relationship with lemon water. Mostly because after drinking it I'd have to wait half an hour to eat, which back in my lazy & unhealthy days just didn't fit the schedule! Thanks to this gut healing though, all of the amazing tips and tricks that I picked up along my journey, are now coming back together and aligning to form a powerful healing potion for my gut!

To be completely honest, this one sets the tone for the rest of my day and pretty soon I'll tell you exactly why! So if it means waking up that extra half an hour earlier just to fit this in, then that's exactly what should be done because this stuff works like magic. It's not just for gut healing though, it has many other benefits for all of your vital organs to function at their absolute best!

This powerful vitamin, nutrient and mineral rich infusion helps to hydrate, oxygenate as well as balance the alkalinity levels within the body. The vitamin water infusion is great for decreasing wrinkles and blemishes, flushing out unwanted toxins, curing throat infections, purifying the blood, relieving respiratory issues, and can aid in weight loss for some. It also boosts your immune system first thing in the morning to get you ready, awake and feeling energised for the day ahead.

So when your on a gut healing journey, or any kind of physical healing journey, this one is definitely a no brainer! More specifically because it will help you to flush out the toxins while you are in the elimination phase of your healing protocol, purify the blood, boost immunity and provide more oxygen to the body which is exactly what is needed to set the tone for the healing process to begin.

Again this is why I recommend this first thing in the morning on an empty stomach so that your body can absorb and digest the nutrients effectively. This is also why you need to allow 30 minutes prior to eating any meals, so that the potion can really be absorbed and get to work! It definitely gets me feeling refreshed and energised, ready to take on the day - hence why I couldn't help but to share it with you!

INGREDIENTS LIST:

  • • Lemon (The juice of half a lemon plus slices if desired)

  • •Mint Leaves (a handful of fresh organic Mint leaves)

  • • Tulsi (a handful of fresh organic Tulsi leaves)

  • • Ginger (a small portion of organic Ginger root sliced into pieces)

  • • Water (fresh clean filtered/purified water


  • Turmeric Optional & very beneficial! (Talk about OOjas)

BENEFITS OF INGREDIENTS

Lemon: Although lemons are considered acidic, when consumed internally they actually become alkaline in the body! Lemons are a rich source of Vitamin C, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and hydration. If all else fails, simply adding lemon alone to some fresh clean water can help to protect against kidney stones, whilst protecting the body from immune system deficiencies. Powerhouse of vitality if you ask me!

Mint Leaves: Mint is a calming and soothing herb known to aid with an upset tummy or indigestion problems. It helps to relieve flatulence and therefore can assist with bloating. Along with this, mint has been recognised for increasing bile secretion and encourages bile flow. This helps to speed and ease digestion as well as maintain the healthy balance of cholesterol levels. It's no wonder this powerful herb assists so dramatically with healing the gut!

Tulsi: This potent herb aids with the other areas that are often neglected when we are super focused on healing one thing, so it helps to bring the process together full circle. Tulsi can assist in reducing high blood pressure, as well as high cholesterol. It is known to aid with asthma, skin diseases, headaches, earaches, insect bites, eye disorders, bronchitis, colds, congestion, coughs, the flu, sore throats and the list is endless.

At the age of 3, I was diagnosed with asthma and even ended up in hospital on boxing day due to an asthma attack. In all honesty, I'm fairly sure it was Tulsi that ended up healing my asthma for good, the power and potency of this stuff should not be taken lightly! Eat as many as you can and definitely add them to your vitamin water mix!

Ginger: One of the most healthiest and widely used spices today is this bad boy right here! Ginger is packed full of so many benefits and nutrients, we would need a separate blog post alone to really break it down! It helps with nausea, morning sickness, chronic indigestion, menstrual pains, cholesterol levels, infections and can also improve blood sugar levels. It has the ability to effectively reduce muscle pain and soreness and also contains a substance that may help to prevent cancer. Really guys, what is there to lose? Other then all that excess crap thats sitting in our bodies wrecking havoc!

Water: As we know, water is the universal solvent that is used for cleaning and cleansing in every respect. From the inside of our bodies to the outside. As we are derived of almost 70-80% water, this is what brings the entire potion together. However be very careful of the kinds of water you choose to drink. Unfortunately the tap water in many countries nowadays is contaminated with all sorts of heavy metals and chemicals that go into our bodies and cause great harm to our organs. Natural spring water, filtered water and alkaline water are preferable for this mixture, especially from a glass bottle or jar so that you are not consuming any chemicals from the plastic.

My Morning Essentials

PREPARATION

Simply grab a glass jar/bottle/cup and add at-least one full cup or more of fresh clean water. Squeeze half a lemon into the water, then add your tulsi and mint leaves along with finely sliced ginger. Mix it together and there you have it, the most potent, vitamin rich lemon water for your morning consumption! You can feel free to add any other fruits or veggies like cucumbers, strawberries etc to the mix.

I like to keep mine plain and simple because I feel that these ingredients work really well together. Within the half-an-hour of taking it, I had a smooth and beautiful bowl movement (too much info but it's worth the know how), so I was easily able to recognise that my body had absorbed it and accepted the blessings that it has to offer!

I would highly recommend this infusion to anyone who is suffering from not only leaky gut, but morning-itis (not a morning person), or any health issues in general. It is also highly effective for those who are relatively healthy and want to maintain the balance within their bodies.

I hope you find this drink as useful as I have during my healing process, it's been absolutely instrumental to starting my day on the right note. It really does set the tone, energy and vibrance for the rest of your day, leaving you feeling lighter, more active and highly quenched!
